Excited for Halloween!

First, here is the game that I made for Layla's preschool playgroup Halloween party! Bowling for Ghosts. Does it look fun? Well it is. Tanner and I played tonight, testing it out, and I think the kids will really like it!

WARNING: This next picture may freak some people out, but it was too weird not to capture. I was cleaning Layla's playroom out last night and out of the corner of my eye I saw something move. (side note: I really REALLY dislike spiders and am ALWAYS overreacting when I find one). I jumped and nearly hit my head on the lower ceiling, but then started laughing, because I noticed that the little spider had crawled into Layla's dollhouse pool! Upon further inspection I see that he has a friend! Really weird, but kinda funny. So anyway, I decided that they were on a spider date and decided that because it is almost Halloween, they needed to create a Haunted House for Layla. (Don't worry, Tanner got those suckers out of there! And I vacuumed EVERYTHING in that room the next morning.)

Funny Faces

Here are some recent Layla faces that I love. This first one is from this morning. She woke up extra early, but wasn't lacking in energy or spunk!

Okay, this isn't much of a face, I just thought it was cute. It kinda captures her fear of heights. She was standing on the kitchen island and got nervous when I let go of her. I like her sweater too by the way.

This is her "I'm getting into trouble, but I don't care!" Attitude face.

A curious, partially scrunched face.

Glee!!

Garbage Bag

Aren't I a great parent?? I give my child a garbage bag to play with. She's always so excited when I pull out a new clean bag and place it in the trash can, so I decided to see if that excitement would last if I gave her one of her own.
(I was with her the whole time she played with it. No suffocating occured.)

Here, she's thinking practically and tried to use it as a head rest.

"Uh oh"
(I think she just knew that she doesn't normally get to play with a bag, so she kept pausing, looking at me, and saying "uh oh")

Another new development. She LOVES her belly button. What a weirdo.

And here is her new scrunchie face that she makes ALL the time!

So cute!!

Cold Day!

She just loves her coat, can't you tell??

She's checking out the neighbor's Halloween decor...
Brave girl! Those black things belong to a giant spider! Layla always growls at it. To show it who's boss.
Some neighbor friends were popping up behind their windows, making faces at us. Layla didn't know what to think.

Here's our view of the temple (zoomed in)

And our front door! Not too festive, I know... but all of our neighbors have tons of elaborate decorations that I figured I didn't need to go all out this year.

The sun setting on our little townhouse.

Back inside warming up. This is what I get, for trying to take a picture of us when it's close to bedtime. I think this was the only one where her head is facing the camera :)

Me and my hard working guy. He was working on his resume all day and I've gotta say, it looks quite nice now. Can you tell that we're both exausted?? Layla has been teething again and we have been losing sleep right along with her. (I think Tanner said he's opting for the couch tonight)

Random Goodness

She's always SO excited when I come to get her from her nap. In this picture, she had just popped her little head up from lying down and saw me sitting in her room. Surprise!

The Layla Guitar

The Layla Guitar gets upset when the music stops.

We love baths in this house!

And we love cheesecake!! Our good friends Spencer and Paige brought this beauty over for dessert one night. Spencer bakes amazing cheesecakes. this one here is Peanut Butter with chocolate chips! YUM!

Experimental Hair-do's

Kinda silly, but she sits still so well! I just had a few ideas. I don't really LOVE either do though.

I was planning on making these ponies go all the way down her head, but she started getting wiggly so I decided to stop here.

Her facial expressions are absolutely priceless. Here she was saying "awww" while hugging her flamingo.

I peeked into her under-stair playroom and found her trying to get on the bike! Such a big girl.

Lately she's been obsessed with hats... or anything that'll stay on her head. Here she has fashioned a hat out of a diaper. A great new look.

McDonalds (just to play)

The other day, we decided to head over to McDonalds to play. It was cold outside, so it seemed like the perfect alternative to the park. So much fun.

I know this is really blurry, but do you see the resemblance between the two faces?? :)
Chubby cheeks, big eyes, the teeth. I love it!

She thought she discovered the best toy... a climbing wall.

I'm so proud of my Layla, making new friends, standing by a huge owl and NOT being scared. (side note: her mother is absolutely terrified of owls, don't ask)

All in all, it was a fun outing!

Happy Birthday Paul!

Happy Birthday Paul! You're an awesome brother and uncle. We hope that you have a great Birthday!! Layla made you a sign RIGHT when she woke up! She didn't want you to think she forgot your special day!

Gotta love the hair!

Here she stole the picture and was about to shred it... probably into confetti to celebrate!

New Bows and a Bum (not that kind)

Polka dots are taking over! Seriously, I've gotten more requests for polka dots than anything else lately! I love the bright colors and I've gotta say that the satin ribbon is my favorite.

And here is my little bum/punk rocker. I couldn't decide which suited her best here. Okay, explanation time... NO, this is not how I dress my baby, or style her hair. But this IS how she looks sometimes in the morning. We came downstairs this morning and it was quite chilly, so I grabbed the nearest sweater and socks and this is the end result!

So stylish in the mornings. And I did you all a favor by not posting a picture of me. (by the way, that's a banana she's scarfing down)

The Window Sill

She loves standing on the window sill, staring out at the fields. Sometimes I find myself in awe of just how beautiful my girl is.

Another cute boy!

Our friends Kyle and Alyssa's baby Spencer! So darn cute!
I love the sideways hat!

A Fun Visit!

Tanner's sister Leah and her little guy Isaiah came and stayed with a for a few days. It was so nice to see them. Layla was especially excited to have a cousin to play with. Tanner's cousin and my good friend Taytum just had her first little boy on Tuesday and Leah decided to come out and stay with us, so she could visit Taytum and the baby too! Ike is such a cute guy. He was always making us laugh. I think the best thing is that he actually pronounces "Layla" as "Rita"! So he was always running around asking, "Where's Rita??" or "Hi, Rita!" SO funny!
Here they are in their matching carseats.

Tanner took some pictures while Leah and I ran into the store. I guess he came up with the idea of starting a clapping contest! Here's Layla (Rita) really going at it!

"Cheese!" That's what he'd say the minute he'd see the camera!

And here's the newest little bundle of cute! Baby Cash!

I was so excited to be able to hold him! It's so funny how when I'm at home with Layla, I still think she's a baby and then I hold a newborn! She is HUGE compared to him!  It really made me miss having a tiny baby.

He is so precious. Taytum and Jared are going to be the BEST parents ever!
