Duck pond

My mom wanted to try to get a few pictures before she left today.
We stopped by the little duck pond, hoping that the trees would give enough shade in the middle of the afternoon.
Maggie was instantly obsessed with the ducks and wanted nothing to do with pictures (mom fail on my part... should have seen that coming)
But the big girls posed nicely and we got a couple nice pictures.
It was bloody hot outside though, so I didn't want to stay too long, plus there were lawn worker's trucks parked everywhere.
Not the most beautiful backdrop.

We just love Nonna and think she's such a beautiful lady.
Can't wait to see her again!

Maggie's 2nd Birthday

I can't even begin to tell you how in LOVE I am with this girl.
Okay, I will anyway.
She is the funniest, goof ball of a girl.
LOVES to make people laugh and smile and will ham it up at just the right times to get a good reaction.
Maggie has the most outrageous fake laugh and will tilt her head all about to grin the silliest grins.
She is shy around people she doesn't know, but has a real wild side about her that comes out once she feels comfortable enough around you.
This girl knows how to throw a MEAN tantrum.
I mean, dive out of my arms, thrash on the ground, full out tantrum!
It's great.
Oh and she's got some lungs.

Sweetness is also a huge characteristic of hers.
She will love on you for the longest time and offers kisses to almost anyone.
Every morning when she wakes up it goes without saying that she must find her sisters.
The minute she spots them, she'll shout, "Oh!! Hi Layla!" Or "Awww Wemmie!" (That's her version of Gwennie).
She has a fierce love for her big sisters.

Blankie and thumb are still her favorite things as well.
Inseparable, really.

Some of her favorite phrases:
"Oh, hey!"
"Wah happening??"
"Pay a game!?" (play a game?)
"Awww tute" (cute)
"Oh yah"
"Siwee!!" (silly)
"Sues on?!" (shoes on?)

I am so glad that this little spitfire girl is a part of our family.
She really adds so much spark to our lives.

I'm so glad that she enjoyed her little low key party.
Hey, she's only two right?
I made her a fun Elmo cake, which she LOVED.
Added a few decorations and throw in some presents and voila!
Happiness!
We're so glad that we could spend Maggie's Birthday while Nonna was here.
That was a present all in itself!

Sunday Best with Nonna

All ready for church!
My beautiful girls are doing so well at church too!
It was a struggle when we first moved here, but they LOVE their teachers and have made some really nice friends.
It melts my heart when I see the big girls walking reverently, holding hands on their way to Primary.
Maggie is still adjusting to us not being the leaders, but she usually always ends up loving it.
I love my church and am so thankful for such a great ward, especially since we're so far away from our family.

It's been lots of fun having Nonna here too!
