Happy Birthday Layla... this time, for real!

Peek-A-Boo! Peeking around the corner to see her suprise! (I love her face on this picture, even though it's blurry!)

"What's that!?"

Balloons!

And a new toy! This is her serious Cowgirl look ;)

She doesn't really love to be ON it yet, because she doesn't know how to get off!

But she LOVES to push the button that makes music!

and Boogies!! (she really was dancing in this picture)

"Dat!"

Here's a random picture of a wall with some pictures I've arranged... I'm not sure if I like it yet.
Mommy made cupcakes for breakfast!
At first, she could care less...
Then she spots it!
"Okay... now what??"
"Ohhhh yes, I remember now!"
"I eat it!"
"Are you sure you should be giving me this for breakfast??" (I know, bad parenting, but I was too excited! I learned my lesson though, because now she won't go down for a nap!)
"Oooh"
She kept smashing it into her face, like so...
Yum Yum

I tried offering her a spoon once the cupcake turned to mush...
and she kinda used it!
Layla is getting so big! I can't believe that she's been with us for a whole year! She definitely adds so much love to our family. I couldn't imagine "us" without her.

She's Walking!

She has finally decided to try walking for a change. She still prefers crawling, but like to occasionally show us that she CAN walk... only if she wants to though. She is so cute. She'll walk slowly from thing to thing and then look around at everyone, waiting for applause and praise. She'll be the one to start clapping first! This video is from a when she first started taking steps. Just ignore my goofy voice. I was excited, OK? (Oh, and I love her look at the end. It's as if she's thinking, "Big deal Mom... walking is a piece of cake.")

The Drive (Day Two)

We went to McDonalds the next morning for breakfast! I love these pants on her chubby legs!
And this is what we saw for a VERY long time...
And we finally made it!! Here are a few pictures of our place (before we really unpacked, I will be sure to post some after pictures shortly)
Here's the stairway. I like how tall the ceiling is in the entryway. Tanner says we're getting a 17ft. Christmas tree now, since we can. haha.
A view from our office/guest room/workout room :)

The Drive (Day One)

I bought Layla a new book for the trip and she LOVED it! I would look back occasionally to see this.
At a rest stop, which was REALLY windy! Layla loves the wind.
Some early driving lessons
Check the rear view!
We decided to stop at a hotel in Superior, MT. It was a little scary, but it worked out fine. (we just avoided the mystery stains on the carpet. yuck!!)

We Made It!

Okay... so it didn't take us THAT long. We just finally got internet running. We absolutely love our new place! It's so nice and spacious. Everything is unpacked and in it's place now. All that's left is decorating, which may take some time because I have no idea how I want things yet. The drive was LONG and really hard with a screaming baby, but we survived. I don't have many pictures of the new house all set up yet, but they will be coming soon!

Seriously?

When Layla was younger I tried and tried to get her to take a pacifier and it NEVER worked. She was the type to spit it out across the room the moment I put it in. She found one the other day and loves it. Crazy girl.
I think she just bites on it though, because she isn't really sucking. Maybe she's teething again.... :(

Baby's Day Out

On Saturday we went down to Tacoma for their Farmer's Market. It was SOOOO hot out, I literally felt like I was melting. Layla loves being outside and water fountains are her new favorite thing. Here's my Mom showing her the water.

After walking around outside in the blistering heat, we decided to head to the air conditioned mall for some shopping! They have this really cool play place there with a bunch of fun, soft toys. Layla loved it!! She kept making her stink face though... so silly.
And this is what the ride home looked like...

Hopefully this is something we'll see a lot of when we drive down to Rexburg!

It's Coming...

Moving Day!
We're leaving on Thursday. I can't believe it's finally time to move back to Rexburg! It's weird, because there are times when I feel like I'm not ready to go at ALL, but then other moments when I feel BEYOND ready. We're really excited about our new place and seeing our friends again, but I'm bummed to be saying goodbye to family. Especially after Layla has gotten so familiar with everyone and everything here. Hopefully we survive the drive and make it by Friday. I might not post for a while, due to the stressful nature of packing and preparing, but I will return!

Are those...

Okay, so I know that at first glance these may look like something smelly you find out in the grass, if you have a dog... But really they are just delicious butter cupcakes with homemade chocolate icing! Hooray!

Photo fun

Every Mom loves taking pictures of their babies, I am no exception. I also really like to play around with iPhoto to change the appearance. It's fun! I would really like to get a "real" camera someday and learn more about photography, but until then, I'll just keep having fun pretending I know what I'm doing.

Just More Cuteness

It's a really hot day today! Layla and I went outside to play this morning, but it was too hot! We should put water in the pool and swim!
Here's Layla getting mad at the sun in her eyes.
Found some grapes!
She loves playing with the "play fruit" for the playhouse. We find it scattered around everywhere.
She didn't like getting her knees on the prickly grass.
Peek-a-Boo!
I was chasing her around a rocking chair... she was LOVING it! I lover her scrunched up happy face!
Say Cheese!
Pretty pout... I thought Bree's headband was cute on her!
Not the sun again!!
