Exciting

It's true... another Steveson baby is on the way...

We're really excited! I'm only 9 weeks along, but here is our new baby in all his or her 1 inch glory! Today was our first appointment, which also marked the end of the secret that I've been desperately trying to keep. I'm no good at secrets and let it slip a couple times. Oops! But I'm SO glad that people know now. The baby is due Nov. 23, but if they are anything like Layla, they'll want to get here a few weeks ahead of schedule. I asked Layla if she wants a baby to come live with us and she said, "YESSSS, baby peeeze!" And she has already lifted her shirt and declared that the belly button is the, "baby's house." I love little kid logic.

Swings

Layla is so silly! She loves the swings, but insists on holding the chains even though the lower metal part would be a lot more comfortable. She's so cute.

Trip to the ZOO!

We went to the Zoo in Idaho Falls this morning and had a lot of fun! Layla wasn't too sure at first. Wondering what the heck we were looking at, but then she started figuring out that animals lived in the small areas full of bushes and such. She's licking her lips here... maybe she thought that slab of meat the lions were eating looked yummy? Yuck!

She LOVED the statues and was obsessed with this Lion. "Nose, Eyes, Mouth, Nose...." This was repeated for a long time.

Then she decided to ride it. Although, the minute she saw other kids charging for the Lion, she tried desperately to wave them away, shouting, "NO!!"

The Tiger looked like fun too. Notice her enthusiastic expression. She really DID love it. I know this, because she was screaming, " My tiger!! tiger!!" as we dragged her away from it.

This is a really blurry shot, but I wasn't sure if you could use flash in the monkey cave. Layla was completely in love with this monkey. She stayed staring at it for about 5 mins. You can't see it very well in this picture, but it seemed equally enthralled with her.

Tanner says the picture looks creepy because it looks like the monkey has a Layla Face staring back at her.

All in all it was a fun trip! Layla took a great nap afterwards too. That's always icing on the cake!

"Spider, where are you??"

Here's a silly little video of us hanging out on the front porch. It was so sunny and all Layla wanted to do at one point was search for "cute" spiders. She's crazy. This is after the spiders went away, but she quickly remembers what she was looking for and starts saying, "Spiders, where are you??" So silly.

Curtains

Here are the curtains that I've been working on. Made each one in a day (Layla's naptime) and had them just lying around in my kitchen for a while. But we finally got some rods and they're up! I like em, but it's a little weird looking at my work everyday. I think I've found about a dozen things that I would have done differently already. Oh well. They work!

This was the best picture I could take of both of the windows together. Like?

Easter

Happy Easter!

Since Layla has passed her cold onto me, it has seemed to mulitply in intensity and is JUST NOW starting to fade. Meaning I can breathe through one nostril if I do it forcefully. Nice, huh?

ANYWAY, that is why this picture is not a family one. Layla doesn't like to pose for pictures and I almost forgot to take one at all... so this is all you get. She did look super cute though. So did Tanner in his matching tie! Easter was fun and Layla made out like a bandit from her visit with Nonna (she spoils her rotten!). So lucky for me, I didn't have to think about buying too much stuff at all! I managed to make a turkey dinner and it was yummy. The end.

Mmm... Leftovers!

While I was running errands, Tanner said that Layla was wandering around the kitchen while he was in the other room and then realized she hadn't come out yet. He headed in there and found her devouring her leftover applesauce. Yuck! Well, there WAS a spoon right there... she dug right in and loved it. Tanner said she got really mad when he tried to take the spoon away.

Disappeared

Okay, It may seem as though we've just disappeared, but we've been sicker than ever and are just trying to survive. Hopefully we'll make it... More to come later.

Maybe once I can actually swallow comfortably, without that burning fireball in my throat, I can think of something fun to put on here.
