Christmasy twins... in Aug.

Layla REALLY wanted her and Gwen to dress up like twins for church a while ago and I happily obliged.
I thought they looked cute, even if they were wearing Christmas dresses in August.
I love these two!

I think my girls have the most beautiful eyes.
They are all in the BLUE family, but different shades.

Layla's are light blue with hints of green and amber color.
A lot like Tanner's.

Gwen has true, ocean blue eyes.
Gorgeous.

And Maggie has more of a gray/blue color, although they might still change.

First Day of Kindergarten

We even saw a butterfly for good luck!

I'm so proud of her! She's doing really well! Her teacher is so sweet and she's made a lot of new friends already. She gets a sticker for each "good behavior week".
They teach the kids a new song each week and we've LOVED hearing those.
One of our favorites:
(to the tune of "She'll Be Comin' Round the Mountain)
B-L-A-C-K spells black.
B-L-A-C-K spells black.
Scary cats are black, flying bats are black, oreo cookies are black.
I like black.

AND

(to the tune of Camptown Races)

P-U-R-P-L-E, purple, purple.
P-U-R-P-L-E, purple's what that spells.
Purple grapes on the vine!
Purple Kool-Aid's fine.
P-U-R-P-L-E, purple's what that spells!

Happy 5th Birthday Layla

It was tough, this year, for Layla to make up her mind about which party theme to go with.
First it was The Fresh Beat Band.
Then Zoobles.
Princess castle party.
and then we settled on Hello Kitty.

I had a lot of fun decorating and trying out different ideas floating around in my head.
Her party was celebrated early, originally because Nonna was going to come visit that week, but unfortunately she had an injury (we completely understood), and had to cancel the visit.
We decided to go on with the party date anyway, because invitations had been sent.
She had her friends, Lindsey (and her little brother Justin), Hayden, Brynlee, Alivia, and Honor over!

We played musical kitties (kind of like musical chairs), A kitty walk ("cake walk"), Pin the bow on the kitty, and the best game... A kitty scavenger hunt! Lots of fun!

little late celebration

I decided we needed to get cupcakes for Maggies Birthday here in Houston.
We celebrated back in Washington, but I didn't get any nice pictures.
I'm always up for a good excuse to eat cupcakes!!

Layla had a pink one...

Then she was treated to a bath in the sink.
She LOVED it.

So cute!

silly sisters

My girls love to listen to silly kid music on my Kindle.
This was in summer, before school started.
When playing all day was the only "to do" around here.
Miss those days.

The beginning of the video is my favorite.
