I know it's really late...

But, I just feel like sharing a funny situation. A moment ago, I came into our room and noticed that Tanner is FAST asleep on the bed (fully clothed I might add, including shoes, but that's not the unusual part) As I was just undressing and getting into my jammies, he springs up and looks at me. Me, being startled by this ask, "what??". He quickly replies with urgency, "MY balloons are downstairs!!". I look at him, waiting for him to realize that he's sleep talking/crazy and he says, "Are YOURS????". I started cracking up laughing... partially because I'm really tired. He looks at me again and mutters, "what the heck" and rolls over, falling right back into the deepest of sleep. I have the silliest husband, who is always telling me that I am the one who talks in my sleep. I know now that he is just as guilty.
 I love him so much.

Blinded by the Light

Layla loves playing in Grandma's bathroom, by her BIG tub, but the sun was shining through the blinds in her face today! This is her new famous scrunchie face. (it kinda looks like she has a moustache in this picture too!)
My striped baby!
Mom opened the blinds...
But OH! it's still SO bright!
Here's another picture of "the face" from the same day, as proof that she does it all the time!

A Sundress Kind of Day

I love this little outfit on Layla. It's so summery and cute. We did spend a lot of time outside today, playing and finding pretty flowers. Every time I'd take her to a flower she'd start sniffing the air really fast, in, out, in, out, until we reached it. It was really cute to see that she was picking up on what Mommy was doing. Although when I'd lean her in towards the flower she'd just try to eat it.

Simply cute!
A little tounge action... she's been sticking her tounge out a lot lately, not sure why exactly.
Look at this chubbilicious face! I love my little cheese puff!
Layla and I have the exact same hair. I even had the same hairline at her age. Super straight!
Those chompers have gotten her into some trouble lately... and I have some bite marks to prove it!

Photo Shoot

My friend Stacy Jacobsen is a very talented photographer, who happens to live next door to my in-laws! Layla had her pictures taken today, but wasn't the best model, wiggling, and crawling away every two seconds. Stacy managed to capture some great shots though, she's got a great eye. Visit her blog to see for yourself!

bedhead and cupcakes

We've been trying some new hairstyles out lately, and this was the morning after pig tails! She couldn't understand why I was laughing so hard :)
Soon, she started laughing too.
What a mess!
Goofy Baby
Okay, I've been in an experimental mood lately and decided to try to make some cupcakes. Strawberry Vanilla. But I really didn't like the way the frosting turned out PLUS I think I frosted them too early, becuase it ended up melting over a bit. Oh well, it was fun.

These are...

The loves of my life.
This is what I found after I finished my walk last night. Tanner loves our little Layla so, so much. Watching him father her is one of the greatest gifts in this life. I'm so thankful to know that my family will be together forever. I couldn't imagine an eternity without them!

New Kitchen!

Okay, so it's obviously not finished just yet... but doesn't it look nice so far? Thanks Leah and Cam for the pictures.
... oh and I just think this picture is really cute.

The Pretty Box

I have a pink box that I keep all of Layla's clippies, bows, and socks in. Normally it's a "no no", because of her obsession with ripping things, but for some reason today, I said OK. I think it was probably because NOTHING else would keep her attention long enough for me to get anything done. Here are some sweet pictures of her playing with her "prettys".
I love how she totally knows that she's getting away with something. She kept looking up at me, checking to see if I would change my mind.
"Thanks Ma, for letting me have some REAL fun!"
Going to town.
And luckily she didn't ruin anything... things are now a little moist, but a little slobber never hurt anybody.

Day at the Lake

We had a lot of fun hanging out with friends at Lake Tapps yesterday. It was Layla's first time up there and we even got to ride on a boat! She loved the water and especially the kids playing around her. Tanner and I even got to go tubing! Thanks Jaden and Sawyer for watching her!

Found a good spot to set up in the grass!
She loved the water, especially when other kids were playing nearby.
Taking a dip... although there were sharp little rocks everywhere!
Checking out the water from afar.
We picked a little flower!

swimming

She kept reaching and pointing at the duck, saying, "Wass dat!?"
Yeah... she kinda got away from me when I was trying to change her into her diaper :) I should have known, the pool was too tempting.
Beautiful Girl

4th Fun!

Well besides the fact that Layla HATED all fireworks, the 4th was really fun! We hung out at my Mom's in the morning and made a yummy dessert. We went up to Tanner's Grandparents that evening for a big family party. On top of everything, Layla was running a fever, so we had to leave early. She wasn't bummed though, like I said before, she was deathly afraid of any noise the fireworks would make. Hopefully next year will be better with that... at least I'll be able to explain it to her. Who am I kidding, she'll probably hate them then too.

The Pink Balloon

Layla makes the funniest face while playing with her balloon. I love it!

Cute Cousins

Layla and her cousin Ethan are about a month apart. She absolutely loves him and goes crazy when she sees him, although he doesn't always share the same enthusiasm for her.
He sure does love his Mom too... he had just realized that she wasn't in the same room.
Poor guy. Definitely cute though!
Two little chubbies!

Jellies

New Shoes!
My overly cautious girl. She clings onto things SO tightly and isn't quite ready to take a REAL step away from something.
She still gets down and crawls if she needs to.
Peek A Boo!
